I was more concerned with the parents of my 4th grade students reading my scenes. I could just imagine during parent/teacher conferences having a parent bring up my books and "those scenes". My male principal gave me a hard enough time (in a teasing way, because he's known me since I was just out of high school). So, yes, there are valid reasons for pseudonyms : )Julia Amantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17214739777177649918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419590491994471555.post-3616926258418272382009-01-03T20:51:00.000-08:002009-01-03T20:51:00.000-08:00Don't feel bad about the confusion. As I said on my site, if I someday become published with a book for adults I would definitely want to publish under a pseudonym. I can't think of anything more embarrassing than for one of my students to read it out of curiosity of what his/her teacher wrote only to find adult scenes!Amanda Villagómezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02119297811490732509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419590491994471555.post-59298461569929113482009-01-03T18:10:00.000-08:002009-01-03T18:10:00.000-08:00Mrs. V, I'm sorry for the confusion. I feel bad. ...Mrs. V, I'm sorry for the confusion. I feel bad. I read your blog and posted my reply there, but I'll add it here too to clear up this up for anyone else who may be wondering what's going on.
Rios and Amante are indeed the same person (me), however the types of books will be different. The goal is to allow the Rios books to remain chick-lit and romance (since this is what readers will expect to see from my Rios books), while Amante debutes as a women's fiction author. This was decided when Evening at the AC club was sold long ago to my publisher, by people that know more about marketing than I do.
Any authors out there juggling a couple of pseudonyms that want to toss me some tips on how you work with your two identities?Julia Amantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17214739777177649918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-419590491994471555.post-30827664839575163412009-01-03T08:37:00.000-08:002009-01-03T08:37:00.000-08:00Victoria is "a good 50 pounds" over weight. I finally figured it out from your other site. I started writing a comment about it here, but then I realized it was getting way to long, so I am turning it in to a blog post instead on my site www.enbuscadeequilibrio.blogspot.com

I am very excited for your new book!Amanda Villagómezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02119297811490732509noreply@blogger.com
